What Makes You Think I’m Not Interested in Fashion?
I’ve collected British Vogue since I was a teenager. I had stacks and stacks of them, I’d rip out images and stick them all over my wardrobes and walls. My first original mood boards.
However, when I moved from my hometown to Yorkshire, I lost a good chunk of my collection. At the time, understandable, I had to save on moving costs. However, now looking back I’m gutted. I wish I had kept them all.
And then came my 30th birthday. My lockdown birthday, so you can imagine what mood I was in going into the next decade of my life. My husband provided me with gifts. One of them, took my breath away. A mint condition of vintage British Vogue, their November 1990 issue. Which happens to be my birth month and year. Green flags all around.
The Start of a Stylish Collection.
Thus started my obsession with collecting vintage British Vogue. Every year since that birthday, my husband has gifted me with the next nineties November issue. And as a side project, I started picking up other issues here and there. Now, it’s my lifestyle, my religion. Checking my listings, my notes app to see which issues I’m missing.
Once my attitude and budget to this new side hustle got bolder, I started going for some of the collector issues. I’m now the proud owner of the memorial issue for Princess Diana, and the legendary gold issue, with Kate Moss on the front. It’s as beautiful as you’d think it is.

Plans for the Future.
The hope is to collect all the issues so I’m up to current date. So far, I have the full collections of issues from 2014 onwards. I now have all the issues I needed to complete the nineties. Though I only needed two, as my collection is going to start from my birth month and year to present day.
At last count, I’m missing just over 250 issues. The plan is to collect little and often, as you may have seen on my Instagram stories. The one thing is that I am starting to run out of space. They currently line my hallway and a small section in my home office. The vintage issues are currently in storage. Future plans are to have them line the walls of my new home office, once we are have completely renovated our house. It’s the dream one day.
