The Beginning of Something New

Reinvention to a Whole New Level…

Welcome back my lovelies. To the beginning of something new.

I’ve been thinking about this shift for a long time, but in my classic eldest-first-daughter style, it had to be perfect. So in taking my time and honing my skills, my new little corner of the internet was born.

2025 for was pretty much summed up by this saying: “two things can be true at the same time”. Last year for me was both one of the bests, and the worst. Ups and downs doesn’t quite cut it. Personal triumphs and challenges. This is one of the main reasons for me wanting to have a refresh. Not just online with my Instagram feed and the website, but in my offline life. Thus began the journey to take a metaphorical sledge hammer to each corner of my world.

The website was also due an upgrade. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I loved the design, the layout. But it needed some… sophistication. Growing up a little bit. And again, going back to my origin stories, it took some time and was totally worth it. I recently watched a TikTok that talked about giving yourself a brand identity as a person, and I’ve taken that fully to heart. It’s important, especially if I’m really considering taking this platform to the next level.

The Next Chapter.

I’ve never been shy that I would relish on this turning into some form of full-time employment. However recently, it’s been something that has played on my mind if this is the time to take the potential leap. As I’ve always said, who wouldn’t want to be their own boss?

Since I’ve been on my personal finance wealth journey (more on this later), I’ve got myself to a comfortable position with money. Now, we’re not loaded by any means. but I’m getting myself to a position where if and when I want to step away from my regular nine to five, I can. Will this come to fruition? Who knows. But it’s the possible road we’re on, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.

Content creation is going to a portion of this, hence why I wanted to get myself into a place where I felt that I loved what I was creating. This rounds back to reinvention and the beginning of something new. However, I have stick rules for this.

The Importance of Authenticity.

Part of what made me want to start my Instagram feed from scratch was the feeling of being lost. I had started again a few years ago with the promise of only posting what I love. However, as many people will attest to, the power of the algorithm will play with your emotions. I’ll admit, there was times I was posting for the sake of posting and it didn’t feel good.

This time, it’s for real. I only want to create and post things that feel the best for me. So what if it only gets two likes? I appreciate creators who have visually aesthetically pleasing feeds, those that feel curated. That’s what I want. And in a recent article, Meghan Sussex said something that really stuck with me:

“The moment that you start making all of your personal decisions based on external judgement, then you loose your authenticity.”

What to Expect.

So what can you expect from me on this new beginning? Well, for one thing, renovations are back. Back last August, my husband and I purchase our first home, which happened to be the rental home we’ve lived in for the past decade. We have so many plans for the space (and have already started some things), and I cannot wait to share them with you. I loved doing the rental Renos and sharing them with you. Now, I can really flex my design skills to the next level.

One other thing I’m not holding back on, is my love for personal finance. It’s something I’ve dipped my toes into and needs to be spoken about more. Especially with women, the LGBTQIA community and POC. The best thing about this being my corner of the internet is that I can talk about anything I want. And this is a subject that is close to my heart that I cannot wait to speak about.

Finally, the usual stuff. I love the practice of elevated everyday living, taking a simple moment and making it bigger. Recipes, lifestyle content and playlists. Everything you’ve loved before, but even better.

It’s good to be back. x
