The Dreamiest Place I’ve Been to…
For the past five years, my birthday treat has been to take myself to Middle Lodge Estate for a spa day. It’s a whole day to myself, where no one can disturb me. I can pamper myself, give my body a little TLC and plan out what the future holds for my next trip around the sun.
When I started this ritual, I was looking a possible places I wanted to go, and came across Middleton Lodge Estate on Instagram. Immediately, I fell in love. It was like having a slice of The Cotswolds up North. Since the visits to the spa, my husband and I have gone back several times for countryside walks and Sunday lunches. The only thing to add to the list is to actually book at stay at this gorgeous spot.
Trust me when I say, if you’re going to consider a trip to the United Kingdom, then you need to consider heading to North Yorkshire. It’s called God’s Own Country for a reason.

Middleton Lodge Estate.
The whole estate is dreamy. The estate is made up of several buildings and different places you can stay at. At the entrance is one of their wedding venues, The Fig House and walled gardens. If my husband and I hadn’t had our hearts on eloping, this would have absolutely been number one on our list. The other venue, The Main House, is at the back of the estate. I’ve visited it for several PR events and it is also magical.
In the main complex is The Coach House, where you go for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As I mentioned, you can visit Middleton Lodge as a non-guest and eat at the establishment. The food is utterly delicious, a reason why we love to visit it on a yearly basis. Attached to the restaurant is reception, an interiors shop my other half has to keep me and my credit cards away from and several hotel rooms. A few are dog friendly and come with private terraces and hot tubs.
Finally, towards one side, you’ll find several guest cottages you can stay in and The Forge, which is their fine dining restaurant. We’ve never eaten here but it’s on the list. Definitely for when we stay over. Attached to the restaurant is their gem, The Forest Spa.

The Forest Spa.
The Forest Spa is made up of two buildings. The main reception with relaxation area is where you’ll be able sit back and enjoy the crackle of the wood burning fireplace. You’ll also find the changing rooms, and where you need to head for treatments. It’s also where you’ll have lunch, should you book this as part of your treatment.
Outside is several dining and relaxing areas, the hot tubs and the outdoor swimming pool, which is heated. Even in late November, I’ve always lucked out with the weather and have been able to enjoy the pool in the sunshine. I need to come in the summertime, I bet it is glorious. This is, of course, for when I hit that tax bracket.
Finally to the back you’ll find the final building with the steam room, cold plunge pool and sauna. It’s my favourite spot to pull up a chair and read my book, right next to the roaring fire. You can order drinks and stacks from various locations without ever having to leave your spot.
Back at the main building, should you book a treatment (which you should) you’ll find the treatment rooms. Or should I say huts. Simple, rustic, but perfect.

Spa Treatments.
Whenever I’ve visited, I’ve always done the full spa day, which includes two treatments and lunch. The first is always an hour long, I like to go for either a full body massage or a bespoke facial, depending on my mood. The second is a bath treatment. Now you’re going to see the words seaweed bath and raise your eyebrows. However, it’s so relaxing, and my skin has never felt more hydrated. If I were to recommend anymore treatments, it would be the rose facial. My skin is dry and sensitive, it’s great for calming inflamed skin, whilst also hydrating and smoothing.
After every treatment, you’re taken to the quiet zone, offered a tea, energy ball and frozen grapes, which have immediately become my favourite boujie snack at home. The room overlooks fields and a forest. You feel so connected to nature, relaxed and at peace.
Overall, I cannot recommend Middle Lodge Estate enough as a place to visit. Add it to the list and thank me later.
