Decorating My Home for Christmas
Adding Some Festive Touches to Our Home…
The holidays have hit The Griffin household. I’m excited to show off how we’ve been decorating our home for Christmas. I love this time of year, it’s so magical and festive. I love going out fully for the holidays and Christmas is no exception.
My seasonal decor is mainly in my living room. It’s the main room of our home and the place we spend the most time. This room has our tree, decorated mantle and anything else festive.
Our Christmas Decor Theme.
The theme this year for decorating my home for Christmas was Ralph Lauren/ traditional Christmas. I wanted to add in the charm, the traditional and the luxury this theme brings to decorating a space. Therefore, this involves a lot of tartan, traditional colours and textures.
Rather than going for bright traditional colours, I went for a deep, wine red ribbon, along with the Black Watch tartan to our tree. This gives some richness and depth to the decorating. The room feels warm and inviting, exactly what I wanted in our home.
Festive Touches to the Rest of Our Home.
I did not forget the rest of our home when it came to decorating for Christmas. Our hallway is the same as always, but I added a deep yellow/ tan colour to it. It’s added something else along with the alpine feel of the garland.
I also added additional garland to our home, mainly in the kitchen. Usually this is around our kitchen window, but I decided to add this to the doorway between the kitchen and living room. It’s added a touch of whimsical to the room and leads you into the rest of the festive home.
