May Goals

It’s Gonna be Maaaayyyy…

It feels weird writing out my May goals. We’re approaching week seven of lockdown and it feels weird to be goal aiming during this time. However, as I’ve mentioned on my Instagram, I’ve been finding that setting myself small goals helps give me motivations to get through the week and find a person.

However, I’m going into this new month with ensuring the goals I’m setting are realistic. This is why for my May goals, I’m going back to my 2020 goals and sticking to the three areas that I want to focus on this year. Health, family and work. So this time around there’s only three goals, each on aimed at these areas. Here are my goals for May…

HEATH GOAL.

My husband and I have become the fitness couple during this quarantine. I think partly we’ve always said there are certain things we haven’t been able to do fitness-wise because we’re always working. Lockdown has brought down a new opportunity of time. So we’ve decided that with this time, we’re going to give it our all with health and fitness, no excuses. My husband’s goals are different from mine. Along with being healthy and feeling good, I also want to lose weight. I’ve spoken about on a recent blog post that I’ve been working out at 6 am Monday- Friday and we’ve been going out for a hike on a Saturday. I’ve very much been enjoying this, so my goal is to keep it up.

The main thing I want to change is my diet. Now, I’m not going on a diet, they are not practical at all to maintain and I’m genuinely a healthy eating person. For me, I really want to get more water into my body (as always) and just ensuring that I’m eating more protein. I feel that I could get more into my diet. Lots more fish and nuts I feel.

FAMILY GOAL.

My main family goal is to bring back some fun and ‘nights out’ to our home. We’re obviously not going to go out-out, but I can bring that element to our living room. Friday has become a tradition of enjoying a bottle of wine together with good food and we’re going to start doing a local takeaway date night at least once a month. We’ve also been enjoying hikes in quiet woodlands on a Saturday, just getting away from it all and being together (for a safe amount of time, no taking the mick here). I really want to keep this up and find new ways of creating date nights at home. We’ve been playing around with cleaning up and styling our courtyard and I’d love to see if getting some seating out there would be something we could achieve this month so we can have some late evenings enjoying a glass of wine in the garden. Fingers crossed we’ll find something!

WORK GOAL.

My main job-wise, I’m blessed that I can still do my job. It’s not something that I take lightly how lucky I am, especially with my husband not working right now (works in hospitality). Blog wise, I’ve been very lucky with PR coverage. My home is being featured on the amazing How I Rent channel and Like To Know It (this Sunday!) This month I’m going to push myself with creating more content and being more creative with it. I love making videos for my YouTube channel and I’ve been dabbling in TikTok and IGTV. I can’t wait to carry this one and deliver you amazing content that’s going to inspire you during this time.
