It’s Time to Tidy Up Your Sanctuary.

Your bedroom is your oasis away from the rest of the world. In our home, it’s very much the place where we relax and unwind. And part of this is how you keep the space organised. There are many ways to organise your bedroom. However, I want to focus on decorative storage, which marries design and function together.

The organisation of a room doesn’t have to be boring. So here are my top tips on how to organise your bedroom…

Show Off You Storage.

Historically, primary bedroom storage has been an eyesore. It’s time to change that and get creative. Storage doesn’t have to been hidden, it’s great to have things out on display. I love my jewellery box and necklace stand, it’s a great way to organise my pieces whilst also creating a styling moment.

Use Trays and Slabs to Group Things.

I love using trays and slabs to organise my things. Within our primary bedroom, I have a few of these scattered about, mainly for perfume, skincare and bedside tables. It’s a great way to organise and group, knowing exactly where your things are.

When it comes to how you organise your bedroom, stock up on these bits. I love finding a vintage bargain, anything unique that will make such a difference to our home.

Take Advantage of Under the Bed.

When you have a small bedroom, the storage under a bed is hugely important. We’ve taken advantage of ours for years and it’s been a lifesaver. Under our bed, we store mainly our shoes and bags, while we are limited on wardrobe storage.

The space under your bed is unused most of the time. So stack a couple of boxes underneath or invest in a bed with built-in. Even if you don’t fill it straight away, you’ll find it a lifesaver in situations.

Minimise the Clutter.

When you want an organised home, you have to minimise the clutter. It’s great for a couple of personal items out, but when it comes to organising your bedroom, try to store as much as you can behind closed doors.

Failing cupboard space and you need stuff out, then opt for decorative storage boxes to keep them. I love a linen coved box for important things that I want to keep safe.

Give Every Place a Home.

Something that I’ve talked about on my Instagram is the power of giving your things a place to call home. And by that I mean, X goes there and Y goes there, not just that this belongs in the bedroom. I have my home organised into zones, specifically how I move around the room when getting ready in the morning or evening.

By zoning your room and ensuring everything has a place, you’ll begin to have the natural instinct to return it back to that place, ensuring your room stays neat and tidy.
