Coffee Table Roundup
That All Important Piece for Your Living Room…
I do love a coffee table. It’s that piece in your living room that stands out. The coffee table is not only a functional piece but also a driving decor piece. It’s that piece that will be noticed first and give you an indication of what your interior style and taste is.
Sadly, my coffee table right now is not reflective of my interior style. I’d love a more wooden looking one, but I’m saving this until we have our home. That’s when I’m going to go crazy with getting my perfect one. For now, you guys are loving it on my Instagram feed, so, for now, I’m happy with it.
There are a couple of things that you need to consider when you’re buying a coffee table. Firstly is size. Do you have enough space between your sofa and table to walk around comfortably? I always thing your coffee table should be about 2/3’s the size of your sofa, so it can sit nicely in the middle without looking too small compared to the rest of your furniture. Next is the function. Do you want one level or a couple of compartments? I like a coffee table with two levels; one for decorating and one for hiding things in a basket. Coffee tables with drawers are also a great way to hide remotes and controls.
Finally, you want to consider style. What materials do you want your coffee table in? You want to consider how you’re mixing different material in your home. Marble, stone and wood always look great with woven materials. Naturals always look great and give a great effortless look to your home.
For now, I cannot wait to go coffee table shopping in the future. I’m excited to move away from my flatpack one into something more robust that will just be perfect in our home. Here are a few options that are gorgeous and I will always be eyeing up. I’ve had a few of these on my wish-list for a while and I hope to get something similar in the future.
