Dressing for The British Summer

Because it’s slowly coming to an end…

Ah, there is nothing like a British summer. We had a good few days of glorious sunshine and hot weather. Now, we’re back to getting wrapped up in layers. This weather is more up and down than British politics right now. British summer dressing can be a tough one. You need to be prepared for everything to change in a second. To go from dressing like you’re in the South of France to a downpour of rain (this happens far too often in England).

Currently, this outfit that I’m wearing in these photos is literally my go-to outfit this summer. Here’s a breakdown of my go-to summer dressing pieces…

SHOP BLAZER EDIT.

BLAZERS & TEES.

Blazers have become my new go-to for British summer dressing. A blazer is the easiest thing to throw on. When it comes to finding a jacket that pretty much goes with anything. Or at least, I’ll find a way to make it work. Right now, I’m crushing on this one from Topshop, so much so I brought it’s sibling in nude. It’s a linen mix so it feels lightweight but I don’t have to worry too much about it creasing too much.

Now let’s talk t shirts. Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve fallen in love with a t shirt brand. M&S. I kid you not, I’m raving about their tees to everyone and anyone who will listen to me. Currently, I’ve invested in their relax fit and straight fit in some basic colours. And I’m coming back for more later on in the month. If you are in need in some tees then look no further than you local Marks & Spencer.

KEEPING IT CUTE IN MY WARDROBE.
Amongst my British summer dressing, courts have become a staple in my wardrobe. Especially when I’m getting ready for work. The ones you can see in the photos are Topshop. And though I love them, they haven’t lasted that long, the insole glue has worn off, so I’m having to return them soon and get a replacement. A great alternative is these fabulous pair from Mango. These might have to migrate over into my own wardrobe! Finally, I’ve been enjoying wearing my ripped jeans again. I’m not sure why I haven’t got them out sooner. They fit great and are super easy to wear with everything.
