Summer is Finally Here…

I’m back! Welcome back to my Editors Notes: July edition. Guys, Summer is finally here. I’m so happy for the beginning of summer. Longer evenings outdoors, my garden is blooming. I live for the summer lifestyle. This is my time to shine. This coastal grandmother is out of hibernation.

It’s fair to say the past couple of months have been difficult for me. I’ve dealt with a long-term health issue and then a family crisis, one after another. Yup, it’s fair to say I’ve been through a lot.

I’m coming out on the other side. It’s getting a little easier, each and everyday. However, life has irreversibly changed. I’ve gone inwards. My world has been made smaller. And slower. I’m no longer looking to hustle, to rush. I’m happy at home and staying there for now. The world can wait.

There’s beauty in making your circle smaller. Not just friends, your whole world getting smaller. You can focus on what’s important. And right now, I’m being a little selfish. And that is why my Editors Notes July is dedicated to the inner grandma me. Style, hobbies, attitude. Because why wait till you’re 85 to live like one?

The Agenda for July.

Slow living and enjoying summer is the focus for July. And healing. Getting my mind, body and soul back on track. I have a trip to London for the girls who I was mentoring as they made it to the NATIONAL finals at the Palace of Westminster. The word for July is peace. That is all I want for this month.

The Mood Board.

This is everything I want to bring to my July. I didn’t expect this to be so Americana. I guess this is my inspiration thanks to my FYP on TikTok. But it truly reflects everything I want to bring to this month. It’s about simplicity. Simple style. Simple food. Gardening. Simple things that will bring me joy.

I’m also wondering if I should bring back a hobby to bring me joy. Perhaps candle making will make its way back into my life. Most importantly, I will be making preserves. I’m going to head out into the garden and make some delicious spreads for my friends and my home.
