DIY Beadboard in the Primary Bedroom
Adding Some Character to Our Home…
I’m so happy that I decided on this DIY beadboard treatment as part of our primary bedroom makeover. This is the start of a full scale renovation in this space. Or, as much as a renovation as it can be when you rent.
For this primary bedroom makeover, I really wanted to add texture and heritage to this space. Our home is a Victorian property and most of the original features have been pull out of the space. By adding this DIY beadboard to the walls, it added some cosiness that the property would have originally had.
There are two ways to install beadboard. You can get the wooden boards or you can use the wallpaper. With this being a rental home, I decided to go with the wallpaper.
DIY Beadboard Walls.
The process of installing this was pretty easy. Sure the wallpaper was frustrating (as you may have seen on my YouTube webisodes). And yes, it can be a little more perfect. But the change is has made to the space is incredible. It’s made the room feel larger, added some character and just taken the space to the next level.
What’s made it even better is the colour. Which I think we were all shocked about. Originally I was going for a beige colour to compliment the white. However, none of them I loved. So I took the plunge and went for a colour. This is Litchen by Farrow & Ball and I love it. It brings in a lovely warmth and depth to the space. I’m so happy to take the plunge.
