DIY Sofa Console Table
The Final Piece of Furniture for Our Living Room…
I’m so happy to finally show off our DIY sofa console table. It was the final piece of bulky furniture to add to this space and it turned out great.
I knew that I would not want the sofa completely flat against the wall. I knew that we’d want some form of the table to sit at the back, but it had to be slim and long enough for the entire sofa. Now, here lay the problem, finding something over two metres long that wouldn’t cost hundreds of pounds.
This led me down the route of building it myself and where the DIY sofa console table came into play. The frame of the table is based on what Jenna Sue, an amazing interior blogger, did for her own DIY project. I have to give full credit to her for the inspiration behind this DIY sofa console table, it was ideal for our home.

Regarding the stain, I fell in love with this American Walnut dye from my local DIY store. It’s perfect for what I wanted, providing warmth to the room without being too dark.
One slight customisation was building a screen for the side of the table. I wanted to make sure that when you were coming down the stairs, you couldn’t see the radiator. Incorporating the cane webbing that I used for our laundry room makeover allows me to pull through the design from other areas of my home into this space. I love the natural texture it’s brought into the space. It also covers the radiator perfectly, whilst also allowing heat to vent into the room.
