Enjoying Those Last Few Days of Summer…

One of the things I remember doing a lot on family holidays was having an alfresco breakfast. My mum would load everything onto the table and we would come in drips and drabs and enjoy the early morning sun with our first meal of the day.

As I’m trying to make the most of summer and these last few hot days, I try to encourage the idea of having an alfresco breakfast, particularly on the weekends. For me, it doesn’t have to be fancy. No big brunch dishes are being served. When it comes to dining outside in the morning, a continental-style breakfast is the way to go. And thanks to Tailor Made Living, I can do all of this in style.

The Alfresco Breakfast Setup.

First, no table cloth. Breakfast is a casual affair, so no need for that formality. Next, coffee. You want to make sure your coffee is in something sturdy, just in case. These mugs are perfect, so much so my husband is eyeing them up for our coffee shop.

I love to so some form of yogurt bowl, it’s fresh and easy enough for everyone to set up themselves. This also allows you to create a moment with the berries and anything else you put on top. For an extra bit of elevated living, use a honey dipper and a small wooden spoon to give your table some flair. These look so much better than your everyday cutlery.

Finally, no continental breakfast is complete without some pastries. These I got fresh from our local bakery. When it came to serving them, I whipped out our bread basket, perfect for hosting these delicious treats. The final thing to do was to make sure we had enough spreads for everyone and put on some great music. And that’s it. Nothing too fancy, but some simple pieces that took an everyday meal experience to the next level.
