My Capsule Work Wardrobe

Redefining & Simplifying My Working Wardrobe…
Surprise! I’m going back into the workforce! I’ve just announced this morning on Instagram and it leads nicely into today’s post and YouTube webisode. I’ve got a new job in marketing and a new capsule work wardrobe to go with this.
The first question you may have is why? Well, after a brief time off from the corporate world to help open a coffee shop with my husband, I was ready to take on a new challenge. The shop is doing so well, but as I’m not a skilled barista, there’s not much for me to do on a day to day basis. And whilst I was doing some work at home whilst I was looking after and training Dash, I found myself with time on my hands. So I started looking for jobs and here we are.
Another reason is money. Whilst the shop is doing well on that front, it’s nice to get a job with a salary that supports all our household expenses. This means that we save more up in the business and drive forward with expansion plans.
So with the business things out of the way, let’s talk about the fun stuff, fashion. I’ve had a complete week of glowing up and working on my capsule work wardrobe…

My Capsule Work Wardrobe.
So why a capsule work wardrobe? As I spoke about in today’s vlog (which will be live this evening, unless you’re a newsletter subscriber) it’s been a while since I’ve had a reason to get dressed up. I’ve been working from home since the pandemic started all those moons ago and living in leggings and jumpers ever since. Whilst it’s been comfy, I’ve lost some faith in feeling and looking good, as I’m sure many people have.
This new job has given me an excuse to get smart and fancy. I gave myself the grace to get myself a whole new wardrobe, new pieces that would work perfectly for a 9:00- 5:00. These pieces incorporate smart and comfort, as the role is hybrid I will be working from both the office and home.
Personally, I wanted change and simplicity. I wanted a wardrobe that was easy to navigate and made me feel good about myself. I never want to be able to say ‘I have nothing to wear’ because I have some amazing pieces that feel good to be in.
This probably means some outfit repeating, some similar outfits all in the same tones. But it feels like me and I’m so happy with the foundations that I’ve made. Here is all of what I brought for my capsule work wardrobe, with one or two wish pieces.
