A Long Time in the Making…
I have been bursting to talk about this, but now I finally can. I’m so happy to talk about Miles and Co Coffee, the coffee shop!
So we have to backtrack a little. The last time I spoke to you about Miles & Co Coffee, it was introducing the opening of the coffee van. We were about to start planning, full steam ahead. The goal was always to open a coffee shop, a physical location. However, we thought perhaps next year or the year after. However, our timeline moved up and the opportunity came forward that we couldn’t pass upon.
We have been working on the fine-tuning of this project for months and last Tuesday we finally got the keys to Miles and Co Coffee, the coffee shop…
Miles & Co Coffee.
So, where is our coffee shop located? I’m proud to say we have a city-centre location in Leeds. We are placed within Leeds Kirkgate Market, one of the oldest indoor markets in the UK. The building has so much heritage, old-worldly charm. My goal is to keep most of this charm and ensure the interior design matches this. Our brand pretty much represents this.
This is the first commercial design I’ve ever done and we are doing everything ourselves. I mean everything. We’ve just completed week one of our build, which involved taking off this walling, removing the flooring, panelling and painting. There’s so much for us to do, but I’m so excited to work on it. It’s our chance to put our stamp on it. I just know you guys are going to love it.
If you’re interested in seeing the progress so far, the first webisode in a three-part series will be going live on my YouTube channel this Sunday. I’m covering pretty much everything, the good, bad and the ugly. There’s plenty more to see, so do make sure you’re subscribed to the channel.
Our plan is to be open on 8 November (no pressure). The end is in sight, the hard part is over. The even harder part is about to start. I can’t wait to take you on this journey and hopefully be seeing you and serving you in our coffee shop very soon.
