That Refreshment You Need during Summer.

On the hottest day of the year in the UK, I was craving something icy. Rather than just add ice to my glass of water, I simply made a frozen blueberry Paloma. Paloma’s are my favourite cocktail, and this icy drink hit the right spot on a warm day. Now, technically this cocktail is not a Paloma as it’s missing the grapefruit part. However, it has an important ingredient which is tequila.

When it comes to the frozen blueberry Paloma, you pretty much can use any berry/ fruit that can be frozen. Blueberries have that tartness that goes well with the tequila and the strawberries I added had that extra sweetness. However, this would be great with raspberries, pineapple, even a green smoothie bag! Pretend that you’re being healthy!

Similar to the fruit, you could change out the alcohol. Gin would be a good shout, however, rum is very summertime. Whatever your taste, you really cannot go wrong with customising this cocktail. I showed it off on my Instagram Stories and you guys were begging for the recipe. So, swipe down to get the full recipe and let’s get making some delicious frozen blueberry Paloma’s for the weekend…

FROZEN BLUEBERRY PALOMA.

For this cocktail, you’ll need the following:

1 cup of frozen blueberries
1/2 cup of frozen strawberries
100ml tequila
50ml Cointreau
Juice of half a lime
Lime wedges & pink salt, crushed
Rosemary as a garnish

Take all your ingredients and add them to your blender/ bottle. Blend until the mixture is smooth. A great tip is to allow the frozen fruit to slightly defrost before making up your frozen blueberry Paloma. Once the mixture is smooth, wipe a lime wedge around the edge of your glass and roll on your plate with your crushed salt. Pour the mixture into the glass and add your garnish. Enjoy in the sunshine.
