Dirty Martini
A Classic, Simple Cocktail…
A dirty martini is just one of those great classic cocktails. I don’t drink them enough, most bars don’t serve them and my bar cupboard has been out of vermouth for a while. However, on an evening out celebrating with friends, I had one at a local bar in Leeds and was back in love again. I’ve been really inspired by revisiting the classics and some other delicious cocktails, especially on my Instagram Reels. And after falling back in love, I had to commit this recipe to the blog.
Now, fair warning. This cocktail is not for the faint hearted. A dirty martini is delicious but it is a unique taste. What makes it dirty is the olive brine, which is not everyone’s cup of tea. Very much a marmite cocktail, you’re going to either love it or hate it. Want to find out where you sit with this cocktail? Follow the recipe and let me know what you think…
DIRTY MARTINI.
For this cocktail, you’ll need the following:
100 ml gin
50 ml dry vermouth
50 ml olive brine
3 olives to garnish
Firstly, add ice to your glass and your shaker. Pour in your gin, vermouth and olive brine into the shaker and shake until well-chilled. Remove the ice from your glass and strain your martini into it. Serve with a garnish with a skewer of olives. Sit back, sit and enjoy your dirty martini.
