Grapefruit & Blood Orange Soju Cocktail
Discovering a New Drink I’m going to be Having All Summer…
This recipe came about from a collaboration with a brand, that turned into a new cocktail that I fell in love with. Through working with Jinro I fell in love with soju. What is soju you ask? Much like sake, it’s a Korean spirit that is sweet. That means it’s the perfect little drink to sip on during the summer. Have it neat or mixed, I just know we will all be sipping on a soju cocktail this summer.
In creating content for Jinro, I created this recipe that I couldn’t keep to myself. It’s very similar to a G&T, but with a fruity twist. It’s super easy to make and you don’t need that many bits of equipment to create it. If you’re looking to try something different this summer, here’s how to make my soju cocktail…
HOW TO MAKE GRAPEFRUIT & BLOOD ORANGE SOJU COCKTAIL.
Firstly, you need to take your shaker and fill it with ice. Next take your martini or coupe glass and fill this with ice also. Take a blood orange and juice it to get that delicious fruity twist for your cocktail. Put to one side.
Into your shaker, add 40ml of the grapefruit soju, followed by the blood orange juice, slices of cucumber and fresh mint. Place the lid on top and shake, until it’s really cold and you can’t stand to hold it any longer. Remove the ice from your glass and strain the drink into it. Top up the drink with your favourite tonic water. I would go with either cucumber or Indian tonic. Serve and drink immediately with sliced cucumber on the side of the glass. This will make one glass so remember to double as and when you need to.
