That Final Piece to Your Winter Outfit…
I think along with coffee table books, coats is the other thing that I’m constantly collecting. I’m not sure where the obsession started, but I love completing a look with a chic coat. There’s something about them that pulls the look together and gives it some pizzazz.
Usually, my coats are quite neutral, but every now and then I like to get a chic coat in a statement colour. I got this fabulous red coat at Christmas and I’m in love with it. It’s a classic cut, flattering and just a great one to throw on to complete a look.
So what makes a chic coat? For me, there are a few factors. The first being fabric. Nothing can beat a classic wool coat. It just brings some luxury to a look and is ideal for the cold winter months. Next, cut. Personally, I’m okay with a single or double-breasted button coat. A classic style is just timeless and will last in your wardrobe forever. From there, it’s all about colour and pattern. As I mentioned, I love a neutral. I recently invested in this navy coat and absolutely adore it. It’s just perfect for all my cream outfits! Every now and then, I do like a good pop of colour in a chic coat. I’m dying to invest in this gorgeous forest green coat. It’s in such a classic tone but would still give my outfits a little something extra.
I’m not done yet with my chic coats collection. There’s a few more I want to add to my wardrobe, I’ve just got to slowly make my ware there…
