Best Flowers to Buy in Summer
Nothing Better Than Fresh Florals in Your Home…
As I’ve mentioned time and time again, I love fresh florals in my home. They are something I love to show off on my Instagram, as well as have something welcoming in my home. Now, my budget cannot always afford flowers every week, which is why I like to decorate my home with faux botanicals. However, I do like to make it work and knowing which flowers are in season makes them affordable. Therefore, I can enjoy beautiful flowers that don’t break the bank.
So what are the best flowers to buy in Summer? If you’re looking for the perfect bunch for you home or to give to a love one, here are my top florals that are always on my buying list…
HYDRANGEAS.
Some of my absolute favourite flowers. Hydrangea ceiling is here and I’m all for it. Because of their big heads, you only need a few to fill a vase, making them ideal if you’re on a budget. I love the colours you can also get hydrangeas in, the blues, pinks and, of course, whites. I love the green hydrangeas go when they start to ‘go off’. That lasting power and longevity are right up my street. Simply gorgeous.
SUNFLOWERS.
Another favourite that doesn’t end up in my home enough. They are such a cheerful flower and at the top of the best flowers to buy in Summer. You can get so many of these florals for under £10.00 so they are 100% worth buying. They look great cut in a short vase, allowing the flower head to spread out and fill your room with sunshine.
PEONIES.
Now, these are my absolute favourite flowers. Only available for like a couple of weeks during the summer, but as soon as they are, I buy so many of them. As much as my home can take. They are such a happy floral, soft and delicate. Now, peonies can be pricy. But much like the hydrangeas, a little goes a long way. As soon as they bloom, the fill your vase with colour. Plus there’s nothing like the scent of these bad boys.
LAVENDER.
Speaking of scent, if I want to be taken back to the South of France, then I’m grabbing some lavender. I love this so much, I have some potted plants in my little garden. Bunches of lavender look amazing in a small glass vase or even pot. Plus, if you head to your local market, you can get so many bunches without breaking the bank.
STOCKS.
Stocks are all about colour, but for neutral lovers like myself, you can also get them in white. They are such a great little floral that often gets forgotten about but is a fabulous option for your home or as a gift. Their tallness requires a vase with a wide top or tallness. These you’re going to want a lot of them. However, they are such a reasonable floral you’ll get so much for your bank. A good option for summer.
