Getting My Fitness in at Home…

I’ve been working out with my home gym for a while now. The gym for me is not a place I feel motivated. I’ve spoken about my love for working out at home, especially during this time. Recently, I’ve been asked on Instagram about how I achieve this and what equipment I use. So I decided to do a quick summary of everything, hoping it will help you lovely lot who are interested in getting moving at home can do so.

As part of my new routine, I’ve been working out 5-6 times a week. It’s something that took time, but I thoroughly enjoy it. For my workouts, I use Sweat, in particular the BBG programme. It costs £19.99 a month and is worth 100% of all the pennies. There are so many workouts, all altered so you can do them at home. There are also meal plans and a great community to interact and speak to. I’ve been combining this with their workouts and cardio.

MAKING IT WORK.

Space-wise, it’s so easy to convert an area in your home into a gym. A garage or your living room floor (which is where I do my workouts) is perfect. Even outdoors when the weather gets nicer. Some of the workouts do need equipment. For a long time, I was using tin goods and a jar of flour as a weight but I recently invested in these dumbbells that have made a difference. I had a lovely follower who gave me their kettlebell which I’ve also loved working out with. There are a few things on my wishlist that I really want, as you can see below. Even if you can’t get some items now, you have to do what you’ve got to do in order to get moving. Don’t let the lack of equipment stop you from kicking butt with your fitness goals.

Clothing wise, I’ve been working out in leggings and a sports bra. In the past, I’d only wear all black, but recently, I’ve been wearing lighter colours, embracing Spring and Summer feeling. There are some things that I need, like new trainers (current ones aren’t suited to the way I run) and a new running jacket. These things will come as and when I can, but it doesn’t stop me from adding them to my workout wishlist.

I hope this post gives you a little motivation to start your own home gym. I will certainly be writing about my experience with Sweat and BBG soon to give you a full breakdown. For the moment, I just want to make sure I’m doing it for a long enough time to give you lovely lot a full story and perspective.

Feel free to check out my wishlist below and leave me a comment or message me if you want to ask any more questions or queries.
