A Few Things That Will Make Your Home Shine…
If you’re anything like me right now, you’re staring at your home and wanting to make improvements to it. Right now, I’m constantly looking on the internet for quick buys that will elevate my home. And much like everyone else, I don’t want to spend too much money right now. Which is why I have some ideas on quick buys to elevate your home. Here’s are my top tips on doing so…
LIGHTING.
I always say that lighting is what can make or break a home. And something as simple as changing out light bulbs to natural ones can make a difference. On the other side, something as changing up a light shade is enough to completely transform a room. I always get lovely compliments on my lighting on my Instagram account. I’m so glad I made the choice to change it up, our rental home would look and feel completely different if we hadn’t. If you’re looking for a relaxing, calming feel, I would highly recommend going for a neutral, natural-looking shade. The tones and the textures will add a tranquil feeling to your home, bring you that much-needed calmness right now.

BEDDING.
Bedding is another thing that you can do that can make a difference to your bedroom. It’s not so much about spending a lot of money on bedding. It’s about investing in good quality bed linen. I love a washed linen bedding, it’s so soft and gives your home that relaxed, lived-in but stylish look. Another one of my quick buys to elevate your home is a throw. Again, you don’t have to spend a lot one, it’s all about the texture and style. At the moment, we’ve got a faux fur one that during this summertime is going to get replaced, it’s so warm! Again, going for natural textures will add some calm and neutral tones to your home. However, something bright will inject some colour and personality to your room.
COFFEE TABLE BOOKS.
You know me and my love for coffee table books. I stand by that these are easy quick buys to elevate your home. Coffee tables add character to your home, they are great for creating styling moments and draw the eye straight to them, ready to start a conversation. Coffee table books can be pricy, but there are some great, affordable ones that you can buy at a moments notice, ready for when you want to start some decor styling in your home.

RUGS.
Rugs are a great way to change up a room. If you’re living in a rental with ugly carpet or just can’t afford to replace your flooring, a rug is a great way to make an impact with very little effort. Our rug has travelled from home to home and it’s always been so easy to roll out and make a difference to the space. With rugs, always go large, rugs that look too small for the room will always look wrong. However, larger rugs will always create a moment and look so stylish in your home.
THROW CUSHIONS.
Throw cushions are the number one recommendation for something small that can create a huge impact, instantly. Right now, we are spoilt for choice on options for throw cushions, with some great online options. Again, I would always recommend going for neutral/ natural textures if you’re wanting to create a neutral environment. Always go for a mixture of cushions, large and small, square and rectangle. Also, don’t feel that you need all your cushions completely matching, the mixture of different styles will add to that pulled together by a designer look. It also saves you a headache when there’s only one left in stock.
