One of my absolute favourite cocktails…
I do believe that an amaretto sour was one of the first cocktails that I had. Prior to that, I was a spirit and mixer girl, or a straight whiskey girl. I have always loved an amaretto and cola and finding it utterly delicious (still my favourite go-to Christmas drink). However, there’s something about an amaretto sour that is addicted. Cocktails involving egg white’s are always a hit or miss with people. You either love them or hate them. I love them, the velvety texture they give make the cocktail so easy to sip on. I feel much classier when I drink them. Plus, I think they look gorgeous on Instagram!
Amaretto sours are just such an easy drink to sip. The mixture of tanginess from the lemon with the marzipan taste, there’s nothing like it! Plus, they are so easy to make. You simply need a shaker and a short glass, that’s it. Ingredients wise, Disaronno is available at most supermarkets. As for the sugar syrup, I’ve been told by a trusted friend who makes cocktails for a living that you do not need to buy it. Simple heat up equal parts sugar with water and boom. You have sugar syrup. No need to waste your pennies.

You will need:
Juice of 1 lemon
1 egg white
25ml sugar syrup
Ice your glasses. Add your ingredients into a shaker and give it a shake! Pour into your glass and enjoy! It’s that simple.
