Because lighting can make or break a room…
Since working for an interiors company, I’ve learnt how much lighting can completely change a room. It’s a finer detail that sometimes forgotten about, but taking time and attention to ensure that it is perfect for your home will makes such a difference. There are many places that I love getting lighting options from, but today I wanted to put some light on (punn intended) on a company who’s recently launched a new lighting range.
La Redoute is somewhere that I’ve shopped at for a long time. I love their homeware products, the same can be said for their new lighting collection. Recently, their Haya Bamboo Lightshade has made it’s way into my living room. It looks perfectly at home, it really balances the room and completes the vibe of the home.
LIGHTING DONE CORRECTLY.
When it comes lighting, there are a few things to consider in order to get it right for your home. First, lets talk style. Does your room need just a pendant light, or could it benefit from a few wall lights? Do you have a low ceiling and need something short or can you go for something a little longer and more dramatic? Assess each room indervidually as to the types of lights you need in the room.
Next is the components you need for the lights. When you think of lighting, most think of just the shade. But things to consider is what type of ceiling rose you are going to use, the light cable that it will hang from. Bulb holders are also something to consider, if they are on show, look for something more interesting than you basic plastic white one.
Finally, the cosmetic appearance of the light. Do you need a full shade? Could you go for something a little more open? Do you think something with an expose bulb will look great in your home? The world is your oyster when it comes to lighting options so take your time to get it perfect for you.
Here are some of my favourite styles available from La Redoute right now. I wish I had more lighting options in my home so I could display them all!
