Nightstand Styling
My bedside edit…
On a day to day basis, I like to think that my bedside is fairly minimal. However, every now and then it gets a little cluttered. Things creep on over or forget to put them away. My bedside table is the first thing I see in the morning and last thing at night. So to ensure that I am in the right headspace when I wake up or just about to fall asleep, ensuring my nightstand styling is minimal is a must. There are certain things that are a must on my nightstand and some things that are constant things, must have if you’d say. So here are a few things I have for nightstand styling…
ARTWORK & PICTURES.
I love a little bit of artwork at the side of the bed. It’s a very American custom but I absolutely love it- my Pinterest is full of images of them. Desenio is my go-to place for prints, as you well know. I have a whole post coming up soon about choosing the perfect prints for a bedroom. Other artwork I love to display pictures/ photographs. This selfie is a shot of Lee and me in Paris years ago, and it makes me smile so much when I see it in the morning. The frame itself was from Homesense, a great place for bargain frames.
A LARGE LAMP.
I love a lot of light on the side of my bed. For me, a large lamp is a must-have for nightstand styling. These lamps are ones that I picked up from one of my favourite stores; Homesense. It’s great for bargains and I recommend it to anyone who wants gorgeous lighting options at a stylish budget price.
WELLBEING POD.
I was kindly gifted this by Neom and I cannot thank them enough for it. The Wellbeing Pod the best diffuser that I’ve ever come across. Not only does it look gorgeous, the oils that you can buy with it smell divine. My personal favourite is the scent to destress. I feel instantly calm and relaxed. I love putting it on for an hour in the evening with the gorgeous light (which turns off automatically once the timer is completed). It allows me to unwind but also I have a mental count down for going to be. Same with lazy weekend mornings. I love adding the scent to boost energy to slowly wake-up and get ready for my day. This is honestly a must-have for any bedside table.
TO-DO LIST PAD.
I am obsessed with this to-do list pad. If there’s anything that I suddenly remember before I go to bed, I jot it down and I’m ready to turn my mind off. A Saturday ritual of mine is to sit in bed with a coffee, laptop out and writing down everything that I need to do that day. This will be a mixture of blogging things/ general housework. For anyone who remembers things in the middle of the night, you need a to-do list pad at the side of your bed.
TRINKETS TRAY.
Finally, for nightstand styling, you need a trinket tray. Mine is new from H&M Home and it’s perfect. It’s great for chucking my jewellery. And you know, the odd bobby pin that I forget to take out of my hair. Everyone should have a small trinket tray next to their bed.
