Why I’m Loving Rattan Right Now
Mixing textures into the Rattan trend…
Slowly but surely I’ve been converting my house over to a more So-Cal vibe. I’m obsessed with American homes and their interior styles. Californian modern is how I would like to see my home one day. I love the combination of white walls, greenery and natural textures. And part of those natural textures that I’ve been incorporating into my home is the rattan trend.
Once I was a girl who loved all things white furniture. And I still do, but I really like incorporating natural woods, bamboo furniture, jute rugs and woven baskets. Slowly but surely I’m moving over to this rattan trend and I think my house is looking so much better. And while I would love to add more furniture pieces, I’ve been starting with small items of decor.
The key is creating a calm atmosphere that makes our rental home feel nice and tranquil. After all, after working hard at work there’s nothing I like more than coming home to a relaxing space.
Sourcing good quality pieces to incorporate the rattan trend into your home is super easy and affordable. Pinterest is a great place to start for inspiration, along with Instagram. The High Street is always a great place to source some amazing pieces. Brands like H&M Home, La Redoute, Zara Home and Maison du Monde are great places to browse for incredible home pieces.
PIECES I’M SAVING UP FOR.
As I mentioned, right now I don’t have any rattan furniture pieces, but I’m slowly saving up. The main pieces are a gorgeous chair to go in the corner of the living room. I’m obsessed with this gorgeous chair from IKEA. However, I’ve also fallen for this one from Maison du Monde, it’s gorgeous!
Other pieces I’m loving is this side table from La Redoute. I do not need it or have any space in my home for it, but I sure will find one. I am also looking for a room to put this fabulous cabinet. I love the idea of this holding my spare towels and bedding, and maybe also using it to switch out my chest of drawers in my bedroom. So many pieces of furniture I want and nowhere to put them. Very much a first world problem, but I will find a way to fit them into my home somehow.
For now, I am happy with the small pieces that I have and I will update you as and when I add more pieces. Here is my wish list of some of the pieces I want to add to my home and a few extra bits that will compliment this trend. Which pieces are you wanting to add to your home?
