My Favourite Bargain Interior Purchases

Because who doesn’t love a good bargain?

I love a good bargain when it comes to interior decor. There are some seriously expensive interior items on my wishlist (a Hermes blanket will be mine one day). But so the moment while we’re saving and renting, bargain interior purchases are right up my street.

There are a few places that I hit on a regular basis, but here are my top tips for finding great bargain interior purchases…

TOP TIPS ON PURCHASING HOMEWARE PIECES AT A BARGAIN PRICE.

My first tip is to set yourself a budget. Mine, depending on how much we’re trying to save that month or if we’ve had some major outgoings is between £10- £15. So when I’m generally browsing, if I find something that I love but it’s not in that price range, I have to leave it.

If there’s something that I have in mind, I do my research first. You can find some good gems online, with just a quick Google search. If I’ve not been able to find it, then I have to be patient when buying it. An example of this is the recent bath mat and hampers I purchased. I had them on my mind to buy for a couple of months but they weren’t immediate buys. Then on a random trip to Homesense, I found a hotel worthy bathmat and two hampers. All three of these items came to £10 exactly. Patience is worth it, so wait out and you’ll soon get those bargains.

Another tip is to hit certain stores when there are sales. With Homesense, every day is a sale day. However, with Zara Home, I find that their sales are great for some seriously stylish bargains. To go along with this tip is to check the sales returns policy and if you are able to return it, buy it straight away. You can try it at home and if it doesn’t work, return and get your money back. I’ve missed out on some really nice pieces because I walked away.

My favourite bargain interior purchases…
BRASS LEAF TRINKET TRAY.

I found this in a Zara Home sale and grab it immediately. I had no idea where I was going to use it, but for £3.99 I knew I couldn’t walk away from it. It’s found home on my shelving unit in my living room and has somewhat inspired the makeover I am going to give that unit.

The tray itself is not really a usable trinket tray. It holds certain items, like this old perfume bottle that I am using for display. However, I see this hold a smaller tray or something natural. Who knows where this makeover will go.

GIRAFFE ORNAMENT.

This was a serious Homesense find! This gorgeous giraffe was just sat there on the shelf (as I spoke about in my favourite finds from Homesense post) and I just knew he had to come home with me. He currently sits on my fireplace mantle and is a neutral accent to my new interior style. There’s not much more I can say about him. He’s gorgeous and was a serious bargain!

DREAM DECOR COFFEE TABLE BOOK.

I was so happy when I found this book in Homesense. This is roughly £25 on Amazon right now. I picked up this big book for £9.99. As any regular reader will know, I’m a big collector of coffee table books, so whenever I see any of these interior or fashion books on sale, I will always pick them up if the price is right. I love displaying this book, it fits perfectly into my interior style for the living room. I also love flicking through it. My interior style has gone costal/ California modern and this book is filled with tones of inspiration.

WOODEN TRAY.

This was a Zara Home sale buy. A fiver that I knew I had to have. Normally, I consult with Lee on things that I want to buy. However, with this I got it, knowing that if Lee truly hated it, I could return it. I’m so glad he actually love it, as it works perfectly with the room. It just adds something extra to the plain white coffee table. Truly, one of my favourite things in my home right now.

SPECKLED PLANT POT.

You may think that this is from an Anthropologie sale (another place I hit up on a regular basis when there’s a sale). However, this is actually from Homesense. It was another buy I didn’t consult Lee on, but I knew he’d love it. It works so well with the decor in the living room, but I have a feeling this and the rubber plant will be moving upstairs once we do the bedroom. I’m planning to have a lot of blue tones in there and this will work perfectly in the room!
