The Things I Use to Organise My Life

an edited lifestyle organisation how to organise your life

For the goal-kicking, gal bosses out there…

Even the most organised of us out there need a little help every now and then. I swear without half of these things I’m a hot mess. The key to feeling on top if things are to have the right tools. I’m not talking anything complicated, just simple things that will make your life 100% easier and make you feel like you can conquer anything! Here are my top suggestions that I truly believe you should buy to help organise your life…

PAPER DIARY.

I use both electronic and paper, but for different things. my iCal is so Lee knows what events I’m at (we share a calendar) so he’s not sat waiting for me to get home to have tea (this has happened many times when I forget to tell him about blogger events). My diary is literally my life on paper. I’ve been a proud buyer of the Rifle Paper Co. diary for the past three years and I would honestly not change. They are 100% worth the investment. This one has everything. Hardback which is great for keeping its shape. It has an address section, note pages and a monthly view before going into the week. The monthly bit is ideal for birthdays and important events, perfect for a quick glance at the month ahead. It’s an absolute lifesaver, something that I look at every single day.

For most of the Rifle Paper Co. stuff (in which I have a lot of. Not a sponsored post, just someone who is incredibly in love with their brand), the best place I’ve found for purchasing their products is Papermash. They pretty much have everything in stock and great customer service. They are very few places in the UK that sell Rifle Paper Co. so if you love their stuff as much as I do, they are definitely worth checking out!

MEAL PLANNER.

I use to use just a plain piece of paper and wing my meal planning. Not anymore, this meal planner pad is fabulous! It has both a section for meals and a section for writing down your food shopping list. I honestly love it. I can see exactly how my week is going to be laid out, so no food waste at all. Plus, it’s incredibly pretty, so I’m happy to have this stuck to my cupboard doors for rest of the world to see. This pad instantly makes you feel like you’ve got organising your life to a T. It cost a bit, but I’m a firm believer in investing in something you think looks gorgeous, as you’re 100% more likely going to use it more. It’s a mini investment, but worth it.

LIST PAD.

From one pad to another. While my meal planner is strictly for my weekly shop, my list pad is for thing throughout the week I need to collect. We all have that moment when we realise that we’re a few days out from having no toothpaste in the house (FYI, that list above is my actual ongoing list for this week). My current pad is sold out at the moment on the Papermash website, but this list pad is equally as cute. It’s great for jotting down those mid-week things, allowing me to grab them on my way home as and when I have time.

FILING FOLDERS.

Filing away important documents is the key to inner peace for me. I hate seeing stacks of mail on the sides, it gives me anxiety that they need sorting/ actioning. For me, I have to just look at it straight away and get it filed once completed. I have a couple of these files from Kikki.k which sadly they don’t do anymore. They had a collection of three for tax, bills and manuals, which was ideal for me. Alternatively, you can get some bank ones and file them in a similar way. I’ve also amended some of the files slightly. The bills file was organised by type of bill, I prefer doing my bills and statements by the month.

If you wanted to make your own, I recommend investing in good A4 files, plastic wallets and dividers. Now, if there’s a question about one of my bills or payments that should have been made, I know exactly where to find them. I am actually thinking of switching up the folders, to something more colourful. However, that’s for another time, quite possibly when we sort out the attic room and rearrange our home office.

What things do you use to help with organising your life?
