Houseplants You Couldn’t Possibly Kill
I love filling my home with gorgeous plants. They truly fill a room with life. And contrary to popular belief, houseplants are fairly easy to take care of. They just need a little TLC, along with regular love and care.
However, there are always exceptions to the rules. There are some gorgeous houseplants that you can somewhat neglect and they will still thrive. Very handy for those who’s luck with plants hasn’t always been the best. Yes, you still need to take care of them. But forget to water these houseplants for a day or three? Don’t worry, there’s a plant baby for you…
Houseplants You Couldn’t Possibly Kill
Monstera deliciosa. I’ve got one Monstera in my house and it’s absolutely thriving. Can I remember the last time I watered it? To be honest, it’s been a while. This plant is honestly huge, and because it’s native to the tropical environments, it can survive a day or two without water. So if you’ve got a friend who struggles to keep houseplants alive, this might be the one for them.
Herbs. My herbs grow outside in a pot so they do get a lot of water and sunlight. However, prior to having a home with access to outdoor space, my herbs grew in my kitchen/ living room in the windows. Herbs are perfectly happy as long as they have light. They also need water, but they don’t need a lot of water otherwise you’ll waterlog them. Plus, they smell amazing and will fill your home with a delicious scent. Rosemary is my absolute favourite, with basil as a second best.
Artificial plants. Let’s face it if you can’t win at keeping a houseplant alive, fake it. Artificial plants have come a long way in the past couple of years. Fake houseplants are perfect for dark corners where real ones wouldn’t survive. Fake floral bouquets look stunning also in a decorative vase. I absolutely love the selection that Rose & Grey have on offer. One day, I will have a gorgeous bouquet in the centre of my coffee table. For now, you cannot go wrong with the selection on offer at Homesense.
