Are You Ready for a Birthday Adventure?
Sorry for the lack of post last week, but I was enjoying a week of birthday celebrations away from West Yorkshire and headed to the Capital. Fear not readers- I was never going to leave you out of all the fun!
Yes, it was my birthday last Monday and it was a rather special one. I have turned 25 years old, and are kinda loving it. Sure 24 was great but it was just, well 24. 25 feels so much more grown up, so much more mature and ready to take on anything.
Lee was kind enough to treat me this year to some birthday celebrations in London town. Who doesn’t love the capital- it is full of life, excitement and shopping!! I was woken up on my birthday by Lee and was whisked to my dream location for brunch…
BRUNCH AT DUCK & WAFFLE.
I have loved Duck and Waffle ever since I first heard about it. It’s on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower. Open 24/ 7, you can visit whenever best suited for you. And brunch time was the best for me and as soon as we sat down- it was straight on ordering that cup of tea I was desperate for. Hey, I am getting older, oh course I am going to want to drink lots of tea!!
Lee ordered the dish of the restaurant- after all, it is named out it! Duck leg confit on top of a waffle with mustard maple syrup. Delicious- I managed to sneak a bite when he wasn’t looking (a task in itself!) I went for something a little fancy, smoked salmon with a poached egg on a waffle. It was delicious- the perfect start to my birthday. Best dream brunch ever. I felt very lucky that I managed to go and visit the place. You can tell how much I love it from the look on my face below. The people at Duck and Waffle were amazing! They made us feel so welcome and when they found out about my birthday celebrations- they insisted on sending over a little treat…
A SHOPPING TRIP AND A WALK AROUND THE CAPITAL.
Lee got them to promise not to sing to me- I really don’t like it when people sing out loud. How pretty is the plate?! It was gorgeous!! Thank you so much to the people at Duck and Waffle for making my birthday breakfast so special!
After our breakfast, it was time to hit the shops for a few birthdays treats. After shopping, we went for a walk around Hyde Park during the crisp evening before the sunset.
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland was in full swing when we walked past. We had visited the night before- but L is afraid of heights (and yes he is 6ft 2. And no, I don’t understand how he can be scared either. And yes he survived the glass elevator at D&W!) so we didn’t have a chance to go on any of the rides. But enough about the wonderland, there was a more pressing matter to attend to. Such as birthday outfit posts pictures for the blog.
Thank you for all the birthday wishes and presents that people got me. Let me know if you would be interested in a birthday present haul- they are some of my favourite videos to watch on YouTube and I really want to get the channel started up again! Here’s to being 25.
