The weather is finally changing…
I know I write this as we’re having a cold snap, but that glimmer of hot weather we had a few days ago gave me hope. Spring is truly here and I’m so ready for it. I whipped out my trench coat from storage and I’ve not taken it off since. Yes, the weather is finally hinting that we all need a transitional wardrobe happening right now.
Here’s what is part of my transitional wardrobe…
TRENCH COATS AND BLAZERS.
As I mentioned, a trench coat is an essential part of my transitional wardrobe. It holds up against the wet weather, keeps me warm through cold snaps but is light enough that I don’t get sweat on warmer days. I would love to own a Burberry trench coat but for now, I swear by this classic camel one by ASOS. Good value for money and has stood the test of time.
Blazers are also something that I’m very much looking forward to wearing again. Blazers are great for layering up and throwing on on your way to work. I love a good blazer over a jumper, it’s a soft but structure juxtaposition that just works.
LIGHT SHIRTS/ BLOUSES.
It’s not quite the weather for linen shirts (but a girl can dream…). However, I’m whipping out all my silk shirts and I’m absolutely loving it. I’m truly obsessed with this animal spot one from Topshop, I’ve pretty much worn it to death since I got it. & Other Stories also do a great range that I cannot wait to invest in.
Just because we’ve seen hints of sunshine, doesn’t mean we can pack the knitwear away just yet. Well, some of them can get tucked away for the next few months. A gorgeous light-weight knit is perfect for those mid-warm days. And as mentioned, they work perfectly under blazers for chillier days. For knitwear, you cannot beat Marks & Spencer. They have a fabulous range at great prices, regardless of your budget.
Loafers are my favourite item in my transitional wardrobe. Not even that, I wear them pretty much all year around. They are so practical throughout the year. I love a good nude shoe and these ones from ASOS, I have them in dark brown and they are the most comfortable and stylish ones I’ve owned.
Bags can completely change up a transitional wardrobe. I’ve been wearing the same bag for god knows and I’m so looking forward to investing in a new one. I’m after a brown one to give my wardrobe a neutral look, but if I happen to be persuaded to get another black one, this one by Mango is for the win!
