The things I use every single day…
I’m very into my skincare. When the girls in my class were using foundation and playing with eyeliner, I was looking at how it was best to moisturise my skin. I’ve always been told if your skin isn’t in the best condition, then your makeup will never look good. These are words I’ve always stood by. After all, you don’t build a house on shoddy foundations.
I’ve wanted to mix up my beauty and skincare this year, and for the last few weeks, I’ve been dipping into some new products. However, mainly been sticking to the oldies but goodies. The cold weather has not been kind to us. And with my dry skin, I didn’t want to start mixing it up just yet.
My current everyday beauty essentials have been about moisturising and simplicity. I have only a few minutes in the morning to get ready for work and my main focus is skincare. So makeup has to be simple but gorgeous. I envy the French girls simple no-makeup makeup look. An absolute beauty goal to have a beauty regime just like them. And with the current everyday beauty essentials, I think I’m getting there slowly but surely…
The everyday beauty essentials I’m loving.
My go-to moisturiser is Kiehls. Their Ultra Facial Moisturiser is the best. It really is a 24-hour moisturiser. Even if I don’t use any serums, my skin feels soft, smoothed and plump. I always buy the big bottle. It’s a large investment up front, but I honestly only buy a bottle of year. It lasts between 8- 9 months. You only need a little bit- it goes a long way.
To go with my moisturiser, I’ve fallen back in love with my The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. I fell out of love with it a couple of months, for a reason that I actually don’t know why. I recently invested in it again and I’m back in love. Not only is cheap, but it also does what it says on the tin (or rather, the bottle). You only need a few drops and my skin feels so moisturised and plumped. Don’t use too much of this though, otherwise, your skin will feel greasy. And at a fiver for a bottle, it’s totally worth the investment.
During this winter weather, there are two things that I constantly use every day. The first is my hand cream. I love the collection that & Other Stories have. This one I’m using is a limited edition from last year, but I also love their Fleur de Mimosa Hand Lotion. I have this one in your kitchen and it smells amazing! The second product is Glossier Balm Dotcom Lip Balm. It is perfect for dry lips and cuticles. A must-have during the winter. The coconut smell is absolutely amazing. I’m obsessed with this product.
I’ve fallen in love with this gorgeous eye palette again. Tarte’s Tartelette in Bloom Eye Shadow Palette is just the perfect nude palette with a few extra shades that will take me from day to night. I’ve hit pan on some of the shades but I’m still loving it. I’ve been going for a pink- shade eye with a slight shimmer.
I’ve recently invested in Nars’ Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser. I’ve become a bit fed up with foundation, it’s becoming too heavy for my skin and looks cakey. However, with a tinted moisturiser, I have lovely glowy skin with a bit of coverage. I love this product. I’m still working out how best to apply to my skin, but it still something that I’m grabbing as part of my everyday beauty essentials.
HAIRCARE & FRAGRANCE.
I’m absolutely obsessed with Kristin Ess products. I recently discovered them as part of new beauty additions for 2019. Their Instant Lift Thickening Spray is something I use every day. It’s the only product that makes my hair look thick and voluminous. Just a few spritzes and I’m ready to take on the day. It’s even great for up-dos and when I do the odd blow-dry. If you have fine hair, you need to have this as part of your beauty collection.
Finally, I’ve invested in a new fragrance. I fell in love with Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume when I invested in a bottle for my birthday perfume. So when it ran out, I decided to give their new Marc Jacobs Dream Perfume a go. A little lighter than I usually go for, but equally as lovely. It has notes of blackberry, grapefruit and pear and I absolutely love citrus notes in a perfume. If you’re looking for something to wear during Spring-time, this is the ideal perfume for you.
