is one of my favorite places to hang out here in Leeds (its the perfect spot for also). The cocktails are just amazing- trying the Guava Daiquiri is a must! The cafe has just launched their brunch menu and the bar is now following suit, with a brand new bar food menu.
Before you think your getting a pack of crisp or some nuts with your beers, think again. Roast and Conch don’t do ‘normal’ anything they attempt has to have their own unique twist on it.
Okay so I kinda lie at the begging when I said their was no crisps on offer. There are some, but it’s not the usual plain Walkers you will received. Once you try some sweet potato crisps, you will never want to eat any other kind. They also have on offer some sweet black olives along with some sticky, utterly delicious chicken wings. Glazed to perfection, have the napkins at the ready and don’t share. They are far too nice for that! Get a couple of plates of them and everyone can tuck in!
Finally the ultimate bar dish, the pull pork nachos. These are to die for, the pull pork combined with the guacamole and cheese is just delicious- pair this with a cocoa beer, and your have the perfect coupling.
Moving back onto the cocktails, when you do go and visit Roast and Conch (trust me you are) you need to try the rum sours. These were heavenly and I may have had one too many, but totally worth it in the end.
cafe is open Monday- Friday 8.00am- 6.00pm, Saturday 9.00am- 6.00pm and Sunday 10.00am- 5.00pm. The bar is open Wednesday- Saturday 5.00pm- 11.00pm. The building also has an amazing restaurant as part of the establishment too (must do a lovely restaurant review post for you soon!), located upstairs above the cafe/ bar. The restaurant is open Wednesday- Friday 5.00pm- 11.00pm, Saturday 12.00pm- 3.00pm then 5.00pm- 11.00pm and Sunday 10.00am- 5.00pm.
