I have been so excited for this trip, ever since we booked the tickets in January. It’s nice to have something to look forward to, and I think after the stressful few weeks my boyfriend and I had been having, a long weekend getaway was exactly what we needed.
It’s a shame only the two of us could go and Hemingway had to stay at home. Being the sophisticated kitty that he is, he enjoys broadening his knowledge and loves dabbling in culture. But this weekend was a bit different, there was no set itinerary for each day like there is normally with city trips. This was purely get there, have a wonder and see where it takes us….
Warning. This is very heavy on the images.
Serious. It’s a sea of photographs after photographs, with very little writing.
Well. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
So as any journey starts, on the Saturday that we traveled, we found or seats and got nice and comfy ready of the trip ahead. Thanks to this months edition of Company magazine, I began my research of all the places I would like to visit…..
And found a place that I begged the boyfriend to let me go to, but was sadly a bit too far you. Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium looks AMAZING!!! We need this in Leeds. If anyone has any post or knows of any post about visiting here, please link them in the comments bellow as I would love to know more about it!
We then arrived and began the journey of making our way to the hotel. It wasn’t too far via tube (from Kings Cross all the way down to Gloucester Road) where I stumbled upon my future home, as you can see above….
Keep it sush though, I don’t think the current owners know of my intentions yet.
Finally arriving at the hotel, we began to unpack. We stayed at the Anvi Kensington Hotel, which was not too shabby for the few days we were staying and in a great location too. As it was mid afternoon by the time we arrived we decided to take the short journey down the road to Hyde Park. After all, it was such a lovely afternoon when we arrived, beautiful compared to the cold weather we had left behind in West Yorkshire.
Having a stroll in the sun. And running away from his camera happy girlfriend…
I eventually managed to beg him for a couple of outfit shots. I love this Pug Largerfeld tee, it was one of my best buys from ASOS. As we were in the area, we took a wonder around the gardens of Kensington Palace. I was oh course on Kate Middleton lookout and advised my man if I spotted her and began to dash off with a couple of secret police cashing after me with some tasers in their hands, he was more than welcomed to abandon me. No point in both of us getting in trouble.
Such a beautiful park for a walk and a cycle.
Ah the two bears fountain. My boyfriend spotted the sign on one of those map boards of the gardens, and seeing as he loves bears decided we needed to walk in that direction. When we got there, to say he was less than disappointed is a bit of an understatement. I think he thought it would be a lot bigger than it was. And less cuddly and adorable. More ferocious.
Peter Pan statue. So beautiful.
The Albert Memorial.
And roller blade hockey just outside. Only London.
And then it was time for dinner. My boyfriend suggested this place on the advisement of one of his friend who had done an instagram picture of the top ten burgers, with this place being number one. Hache Burgers in Chelsea is a quaint but funky restaurant in my eyes. Its a mixture of a Japanese- English vintage decor (think lotus flowers and lights with birds hanging down) meets American burgers but with our English twist on them. There is something seriously cool and edgy about this place.
The idiot that I am, I forgot my camera when we went out for dinner, but as we walked past it another day, I retook the picture from the outside in the day light on my proper camera so you could see what it was all about. The rest are pictures on my I Phone camera. I hope they do the burger justice, I went for the St. Patrick burger and trust me, there’s a reason why it was suggested as the number one place for burgers. We also had a side of sweet potato chips which were amazing as well.
Just look at it and it’s delicious goodness.
Smarties instead of mints= genius idea.
And finally, it was back to the hotel of a bit of chilling and some shut eye, ready for tomorrow’s full day in the capital. Be sure to look out tomorrow for the next London diary installment, complete with lots and lots of images!
Have you been Hyde Park/ Hache Burger? What did you think?
